Idarucizumab
ATC Code
V03AB37
Idarucizumab
Definition
A humanized monoclonal antibody fragment directed against the thrombin-binding site of dabigatran, that may be used as a specific reversal agent for dabigatran. Upon intravenous administration, idarucizumab binds to dabigatran and its acylglucuronide metabolites with a higher affinity than the binding affinity of dabigatran to thrombin, thereby neutralizing the anticoagulant effect of dabigatran.
