Definition
A selective retinoic acid receptor gamma (RAR gamma) agonist that can be used in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Upon topical application, trifarotene selectively binds to the RAR gamma receptor, thereby altering the expression of certain genes that are involved in inflammation and cellular differentiation.
