Definition

A synthetic imidazole derivative, fungicidal Terconazole inhibits cell wall synthesis by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol or other sterols, damaging the fungal cell membrane, altering its permeability, and promoting loss of essential intracellular elements. Tioconazole is active against pathogenic Candida. (NCI04)
