Definition
A vein that is tributary of the transverse sinus and drains blood from the adjacent cortical regions of the temporal lobe. The inferior anastomotic vein forms an anastomosis (connection) between the superficial middle cerebral vein anteriorly and the transverse sinus posteriorly.
