Definition
The anterior digastric is a pharyngeal arch I muscle that participates in oral/pharygeal behaviors and is innervated by the nerve to mylohyoid (a branch of the third division of the trigeminal nerve), is attached to the mandible and to the hyoid apparatus, and it is superficial to mylohyoid muscle.
