Ladd Procedure

Definition

A surgical procedure performed to correct intestinal malrotation via division of the mesenteric (Ladd's) bands and detorsion of the affected segment(s) of the bowel. This procedure often includes appendectomy as the dissection of the bands often causes damage to the appendiceal vessels.
