Fothergill Repair
Definition
A surgical technique indicated for individuals with an elongated cervix, or second and third degree uterine prolapse, who want to retain their uterus and reproductive function. The procedure involves cervical excision followed by the attachment of the cardinal ligaments anterior to the cervix to elevate and retract it, leading to the uterus being anteverted and supported.
