Rotigotine
Rotigotine
Definition
A non-ergoline dopamine agonist, that may be used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome (RLS). Upon administration, rotigotine stimulates dopaminergic receptors in the brain. This compensates for the depleted supply of endogenous dopamine seen in diseases such as Parkinson's disease and RLS.
